Hamilton hails McLaren’s “amazing” progress in 2019

Lewis Hamilton has branded the impressive progress made by former team McLaren during the 2019 Formula 1 season as “amazing”. Hamilton was supported by McLaren throughout much of his junior career before making his F1 debut with the team in 2007. He went on to win his maiden F1 title with the Woking squad the following year and remains the latest driver to have won a world championship with the team. A disastrous partnership with Honda left McLaren rooted towards the bottom of the pecking order and ultimately led to the departure of a frustrated Fernando Alonso.
