Ferrari practice speed not representative of race pace

Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto believes the pace both Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc were able to produce in practice compared to its rivals should not be considered representative of its race pace as it lost its dominant speed across the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. During a truncated Friday at the Baku City Circuit, with FP1 cancelled after 13 minutes due to the manhole cover problem, Ferrari held a 1-2 throughout practice by ending FP2 over half a second clear of Mercedes and FP3 well over one second faster than nearest rival Max Verstappen in the Red Bull.
