Ecclestone reveals he made bid for Silverstone
With the future of the British Grand Prix in doubt, fans are desperate for Silverstone to extend their current deal beyond 2019 and keep the historic race going. The track hosted the first ever Formula One Grand Prix in 1950 and has been a staple of the F1 calendar, but money problems means that the race could be in doubt. And now, former Brabham owner and F1 tycoon Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that he made an enquiry to buy the circuit, which was turned down.
