Hartley can thank F1 safety after surviving huge shunt

Brendon Hartley cannot catch a break in his first full season of Formula 1, this time the hapless Toro Roso driver was the victim of a suspension failure on his Toro Rosso which resulted in a huge crash during Saturday's final free practice session for the British Grand Prix. It was a big one, jaws dropped at that moment, but it has to be said all the safety devices including the Halo, working together to protect the driver for what could have been a very serious injury. Hat's off to the FIA and all involved in making this very dangerous sport so safe, this may well be a life that the Halo has saved or at least prevented the driver from injury.
