Toro Rosso impressed by Hartley's ‘fresh and unique insight'

Toro Rosso technical chief James Key has hailed Brendon Hartley's 'fresh input' in terms of getting the best out of hybrid technology. Hartley only made his Formula 1 debut late last year, but he has years of experience competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, having raced the Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP1 from 2014 until 2017. Key says the Kiwi's 'unique insight' has been good for both Toro Rosso and engine partner Honda. 'The great thing with Brendon coming in is that he's got a different take on things,' he told Autosport. 'The way he had to save fuel, save tyres, use energy is a completely fresh input into this, so there's definitely some valuable insight into what we are doing...
