Gasly confirms potential Toro Rosso debut

Pierre Gasly has confirmed that he is close to securing a potential debut at the Malaysian Grand Prix and believes there could be confirmation in a 'couple of days'. Gasly has been waiting in the wings for an opportunity to step up to Formula 1 and now looks poised to take the available seat at Toro Rosso given Carlos Sainz's move to Renault, which has all-but been confirmed. But rather than wait until the start of the 2018 season, it appears Renault are going to ditch Jolyon Palmer before the end of the month and bring Sainz in almost immediately.
