Alonso's grid penalty now up to 40 places

– McLaren-Honda has confirmed that Fernando Alonso's grid penalty for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is now up to 40 places, after installing further new power unit elements.Alonso and team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne entered the Baku weekend braced for sizeable penalties and, on Friday, it was confirmed that both would take initial, 15-place drops.However, following tests of a 'Spec 3' engine in Friday's sessions, part of his pool of four for the season, Alonso has taken on a fresh 'Spec 2' version, landing more penalties.In addition to the new Internal Combustion Engine, he has taken on an extra MGU-K, MGU-H and Turbo Charger, adding a further 25 places to his original penalty.Vandoorne,...
