Turbo issue behind Bottas' Spain DNF

ercedes has confirmed that a faulty turbo was behind Valtteri Bottas' exit from the Spanish Grand Prix, caused by a previously unseen defect.Bottas was hampered throughout the weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with an electrical fault, and water leak, leading to Mercedes re-fitting the power unit which had completed the opening four events.Bottas was set for third place in the race but retired midway through amid engine trouble, with the issue now pinpointed on a turbo fault, which has not previously arisen."We've identified the root cause of the problem, which was the turbo," said team boss Toto Wolff."We haven't seen that defect before, which shows you that you...
