Mercedes rapid, issues for Alonso, Vettel
– Mercedes dominated Friday's opening practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton edging out team-mate Valtteri Bottas, as Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel hit technical issues.Mercedes led the way on the Hard-tyre runs before bolting clear on Mediums, Hamilton and Bottas lapping around a second clear of the pack.Hamilton's best time of 1:21.521 put him 0.029s up on Bottas, while Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel fell back on the white-striped rubber.Aside from the sizeable early gap to Mercedes, there were also technical problems for Ferrari, when Vettel parked his car with a gearbox glitch.However, the four-time World Champion was clever in parking at...
