Haas appoints Maini as development driver

GP3 driver Arjun Maini has joined the Haas Formula 1 team as the American squad's second development driver alongside Santino Ferrucci. Maini, 19, first came into limelight when he finished runner-up in the 2014 British BRDC F4 championship, narrowly beaten by now-Mercedes junior George Russell. He then spent a full season in European F3, and also started 2016 there, but a lack of success prompted a mid-season move to GP3. The change of categories paid dividends, with Maini securing a podium finish in his only fourth GP3 race at the Hungaroring.
