Sainz Jr. gets grid drop for Russian GP

– Carlos Sainz Jr. has been handed a three-place grid penalty for the Russian Grand Prix after he was deemed the guilty party in a collision with Lance Stroll in Bahrain.Sainz Jr., exiting the pit lane, challenged Stroll through Turn 1, but the pair made contact, causing terminal damage to both cars, and bringing out the Safety Car.Having heard from both drivers, the team representatives and having analysed video evidence, stewards deemed that Sainz Jr. "made a very optimistic attempt" to pass Stroll.Stewards added that as Sainz Jr. was "predominantly to blame" for the contact, he should be given a three-place demotion from wherever he qualifies at Sochi...
