Alonso: McLaren 'better than expected'
– Fernando Alonso says that McLaren-Honda's Australian Grand Prix weekend has gone "better than we'd expected" after pre-season testing.McLaren and Honda endured another troubled pre-season period, the Japanese manufacturer's power unit lacking both reliability and performance.However, it has run more reliably over the season-opener at Albert Park so far, enabling Alonso to battle in the early stages of Saturday's qualifying session.Alonso dropped out of Q2 in 13th position, 2.2 seconds off the pace at the time, and a further second off Lewis Hamilton's ultimate pole position lap.He commented: "After the difficulties we encountered in winter testing, we came to...
