Background: FIA drops 'Verstappen rule'

– FIA Race Director Charlie Whiting has outlined why Formula 1's so-called 'Verstappen rule', regarding moving under braking, has been removed from the regulations for 2017.F1's governing body introduced the rule after last year's Japanese Grand Prix, where Verstappen defended boldly from Lewis Hamilton and forced his rival to take evasive action.Verstappen had already garnered criticism from rivals over the course of the season, following a number of contentious incidents, with the FIA's regulation tweak duly named after him."Any change of direction under braking which results in another driver having to take evasive action will be considered abnormal and hence potentially...
