Sir Jack Brabham honoured with Australian coin
Sir Jack Brabham’s contribution to motorsport has been honoured by the Royal Australian Mint, with the release of a commemorative 50 cent coin. Just over five decades six Brabham won the third of his three World Championships, the Mint has unveiled a special edition coloured 50 cent coin featuring Jack’s likeness and the Brabham BT19 car that took him to the 1966 title. “Sir Jack Brabham was not only a superb racing car driver but he was also an innovative engineer and pioneer, paving the way forward for motorsports,” said Royal Australian Mint Chief Executive Officer Ross MacDiarmid. “As we enter the 2017 Formula 1 season, this coin celebrates one of the world’s motor racing...
