Wehrlein lands Sauber seat

Pascal Wehrlein has joined Sauber for the 2017 season after missing out on a seat at world champions Mercedes. The German's announcement at the Hinwil team would appear to indicate Mercedes have successfully secured the services of Valtteri Bottas from Williams, given Wehrlein was their expected insurance option. Claire Williams told Sky Sports News HQ on Sunday an announcement on the Finn's future could be expected this week. Wehrlein will replace Felipe Nasr as Marcus Ericsson's team-mate in the Swiss team's line-up.
