Honda has 'redesigned' power unit - McLaren

– McLaren Technical Director Tim Goss has revealed that Honda has redesigned its power unit layout for 2017, following the FIA's decision to drop the token-based development system.Formula 1 introduced a token system under revised regulations in 2014, in a bid to control development costs, in which different elements of a power unit were weighted.Manufacturers were permitted to make only limited changes, based on available tokens, but the unpopular system has now been abandoned for the 2017 campaign.The use of tokens hindered Honda's progress since its return to Formula 1 with McLaren in 2015 in which it adopted a tightly-packaged concept for its power unit, dubbed 'size...
