Pirelli reveals 2017-size tyre test numbers

– Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has revealed statistics regarding its extensive test programme for next year's regulation overhaul, which ran from early August to late November.Pirelli sampled 96 prototypes over 24 days of testing, involving Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull, hitting a mileage total of 12,148km, almost 40 standard Grand Prix distances.11 drivers took part, four at Ferrari, four at Red Bull and three at Mercedes.Pascal Wehrlein was the busiest driver, completing over 3,000km of running for Mercedes, though Red Bull topped the teams' charts, covering 4,401km, 161 more than Ferrari.Pirelli's running predominantly took part in Europe, at Fiorano, Mugello, the Circuit de...
