Alonso escapes penalty following Massa clash

Fernando Alonso has escaped a penalty for the incident with Felipe Massa at turn fifteen that saw the two drivers bang wheels and ultimately led to a puncture to the Brazilian. The McLaren-Honda Formula 1 Team driver made an optimistic lunge into the inside of the Williams Martini Racing driver as they made their way through the tricky section at turn fifteen, and the two banged wheels, with Alonso pushing Massa off the track. Massa fell in behind the Spaniard but was forced to pit with just two laps remaining with a puncture, although it did not cost him any positions such was the gap to Sergio Perez behind.
