Grosjean pleased with 'lucky' drive to 10th at COTA

Romain Grosjean says he is pleased to score a point at Haas F1’s home race in the USA, but he admitted the team benefitted from some good luck too. The Frenchman started down in 17th place after a disappointing qualifying session, but he made steady progress with an alternative strategy. He gradually moved up the order, helped by a strong first stint, and took advantage of other cars retiring to sneak into the top 10. The point scored at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas is the first for the Haas team since the Austrian GP in July. “It didn’t go too badly today,” he said. “It was a bit of a messy first lap, but I managed to get through everything....
