Hamilton: "I was in no man's land before qualifying"

Lewis Hamilton said he was satisfied with the outcome of the Japanese GP qualifying despite missing out on pole, as he had been "in no man's land" after practice. The Briton came up 0.013s short of teammate and title rival Nico Rosberg in his final lap in Q3, having led the session at halfway point. However, for Hamilton, who had trailed Rosberg in all three practice sessions and was four tenths adrift in Q2, setting a time almost equal to that of his teammate's was a satisfactory outcome.
