Split decisions by F1 teams on Japan GP tyres

A number of F1 teams and drivers have opted for differing tyre selections ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka. A trend of 2016 has seen the majority of teams pick matching tyre options but a variety of strategies have been adopted throughout the F1 grid for the Japanese round after Pirelli opted to bring the hard, medium and soft compound tyres. At Mercedes Lewis Hamilton has gone conservative compared to F1 championship leader Nico Rosberg with three hard, two medium and eight soft sets with the German going for two hard, three medium and eight soft. Vettel on the other side has three hard, just one medium and nine soft sets for his Ferrari, differing from team-mate Kimi Raikkonen...
