Perez handed eight-place grid penalty

Sergio Perez will lose eight places on the grid of the Singapore Grand Prix following his yellow flag infraction during qualifying. The Force India driver was summoned to see the stewards after he failed to slow down sufficiently at the end of Q2, when Romain Grosjean had crashed and Jenson Button had stopped. Perez was also investigated for having overtaken Haas' Esteban Gutierrez during double waved yellow flags. The stewards handed Perez a three-place grid penalty for overtaking Gutierrez and five for not having slowed down. He was also awarded three penalty points. The stewards said: "The driver of car 11 failed to reduce his speed significantly and be prepared to change direction...
