FIA to investigate Kevin Magnussen's detached headrest after 42G crash
The FIA will launch an investigation into how Kevin Magnussen's headrest became detached following his crash during the Belgian Grand Prix. The Renault driver lost the rear of his car as he exited Eau Rouge, spinning, before coming to rest in the Raidillon tyre barrier. The high-speed crash registered at 42G as his car decelerated heavily, with his cockpit headrest flying off in the process. Although Magnussen walked away from the accident with minor bruising and a cut to his ankle, the governing body is keen to investigate how and why the headrest, which is supposed to provide additional padding for their helmet to reduce the risk of injury, became detached.
