Jenson Button: “It’s disappointing that we didn’t score”

Jenson Button had a shorter than planned Belgian Grand Prix after a first lap clash with Pascal Wehrlein at Les Combes damaged his car beyond repair, and felt it was a missed opportunity to score points. The McLaren-Honda driver had started ninth on the grid and was hoping for a top ten finish at Spa-Francorchamps, only to run wide at La Source to put him out of position, which left him in the wrong place at the wrong time later in the lap when Wehrlein hit him. “We looked really good for points today, so it’s disappointing that we didn’t score any, but it happens,” said Button. “I’ve been around long enough to know these things happen. “I had a really good start – I got...
