Software issue hurt Williams in qualifying

– Williams has confirmed that both Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa were hampered by a software problem on their power units during Belgian Grand Prix qualifying.Williams featured as high as fourth in Saturday's final practice session, but Bottas and Massa could only place eighth and 10th in qualifying, as technical trouble struck.If the grid-deciding session had been trouble-free, Williams had the potential to challenge for the top five, according to the team's performance chief, Rob Smedley."Qualifying was disappointing for us," said Smedley."We had a software issue with the power unit which meant that we weren't able to run qualifying mode, so we lost lap time there...
