Fernando Alonso to start from the back following 30-place grid drop

McLaren's Fernando Alonso will start at the back of the grid for the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday, following the need to change his engine ahead of second practice on Friday. The Spaniard failed to set a timed lap during the opening practice session after suffering a water leak in the ERS. That consigned Alonso the garage for the majority of the session. The unit, which is brand new following Honda's upgrade in which they spent seven development tokens, will not be used again this weekend at least, with McLaren confirming he will run an entirely new unit consisting of his sixth ICE, MGU-H, MGU-K, turbo, control electronics and energy store.
