Ocon didn’t expect his early debut
Esteban Ocon admitted he did not expect that he would get such an early chance to make his debut in F1. The Frenchman, however, feels completely ready for this weekend’s Belgian GP. Ocon has had a torrid season in 2016 with many racing activities. As a Mercedes-bound driver he has raced in DTM, but he also has served test duties for Renault F1 Team. As Manor race driver Rio Haryanto experienced financial problems at the start of the summer and his backing failed to meet the contractual obligations, his place was in doubt.
