Rosberg overcame electronics and fuel en route to pole

German Grand Prix – On his way to taking pole position, Nico Rosberg suffered an electronic problem during his first run in Q3 which he aborted. This meant the German could only complete one run in the final stages of qualifying, doing so with an extra two laps of fuel onboard. Despite this, Rosberg still went on to take pole. “An electronics problem on Nico's car caused an engine cut-out, with a warning message relating to his throttle pedal also appearing.
