Double-waved yellow equals red flag in F1 qualifying – FIA Formula 1 Qualifying will be red-flagged whenever double-waved yellow flags are triggered, the governing body FIA has announced. Latest modification emerging following the controversial conclusion to qualifying for the Hungarian GP when Nico Rosberg's set his pole position lap after passing yellow flags for Fernando Alonso's stricken McLaren. 'The procedure now will be to simply red flag it whenever there is a double-waved yellow flag,' said FIA race director Charlie Whiting. 'There will be no discussion.'
