GPDA chief Wurz surprised by halo delay
– Grand Prix Drivers' Association Chairman Alexander Wurz says that he is "surprised" by the decision to delay the introduction of further head protection to the 2018 season.At the latest meeting of the Strategy Group in Geneva on Thursday, a postponement was unanimously agreed on, following various tests with the 'halo' and 'aeroscreen' designs.A statement from governing body the FIA expressed a desire to explore "all options" fully, but Wurz has questioned the vote, in the wake of recent halo-related presentations."I'm surprised about the delay, because it was maybe one of the most researched safety devices from the FIA experts, including the teams,"...
