Hamilton apologises to Mercedes for shunt
– Lewis Hamilton has apologised to Mercedes after his accident during Friday's second practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix.Hamilton lost control of his car at Turn 11 in the early stages, sliding across the track and into the barriers, where he logged a 12G impact.Given the reading, Hamilton visited the Hungaroring medical centre for precautionary checks, before returning to the pits and waving to fans.Mercedes ruled out further running and immediately got to work on his car, which suffered front suspension, bodywork and sidepod damage.Hamilton ended the day fifth on the timesheets, having only used the Soft tyre in FP2 before his crash, with all other drivers moving on to...
