Hamilton out of FP2 early after red flag crash

Hungarian Grand Prix – Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton was out of FP2 after just twenty minutes due to hitting the tyre barriers on a flying lap. Hamilton had just snatched top spot from teammate Nico Rosberg by 0.001 seconds when he touched the white painted line on the edge of the track on entry into Turn 11. Pitched sideways, he slid across the tarmac escape area and into the tyre barriers in a short, sharp impact that apparently triggered the G warning sensors on his car. While the red flags were immediately shown, Hamilton managed to keep the engine running and extricated his car to bring it slowly back to the pits.
