Rosberg signs new Mercedes deal

Nico Rosberg has ended months of speculation by signing a new Mercedes contract. Mercedes released a video on social media of the German and team boss Toto Wolff signing the new deal. Although the length of the contract has not yet been announced, it is thought to be for two years until the end of 2018. Austrian former F1 driver Gerhard Berger had been leading the negotiations for Rosberg while the driver concentrated on landing his first title, with the 30-year-old currently holding a single-point lead over Lewis Hamilton. The new contract also sees Rosberg extend his stay as Hamilton's team-mate, with the Englishman also signed up until at least the end of the 2018 season. Though their...
