FIA Amends Radio Clampdown Rules
Hungarian Grand Prix – The FIA have made amendments to the rules regarding radio transmissions ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix. The FIA have sought to clarify the regulations used for the team and driver radio restrictions, which caught out Mercedes and Nico Rosberg at the previous race at Silverstone. When it was discovered during the British Grand Prix that Nico Rosberg had encountered a gearbox problem, the Mercedes team instructed him to not use seventh gear, which is a legal radio command. However, when Rosberg asked the team if he was allowed to ‘shift through' seventh gear in order to use eighth, the team responded to confirm that he was able to do that,...
