Jolyon Palmer: “The last set of tyres didn’t switch on”

Jolyon Palmer was left to reflect on another Q1 exit in qualifying as the British driver ended up eighteenth fastest for his home Grand Prix at Silverstone on Saturday. The Renault Sport F1 bemoaned a lack of grip with his final set of tyres that did not give the performance he was expecting, which left him unable to set a time quick enough to join team-mate Kevin Magnussen in Q2.
