Ericsson ruled out of qualifying following practice crash

Marcus Ericsson was taken to hospital as a precaution after suffering a hard crash on the exit of Stowe corner during final practice on Saturday morning. The Sauber F1 Team driver ran wide and hit the damp Astroturf on the outside of the turn, and spun across the track and struck the barrier on the inside, damaging all four corners of his car. The Swede got out of his car on his own, and was looked at by the doctor at the scene of the crash, before being taken to hospital for some routine check-ups. As a result, Ericsson was forced to miss the qualifying session at Silverstone, meaning he will start on the back row of the grid for Sunday’s British Grand Prix. Ericsson’s crash continues...
