Palmer, Haryanto penalised; Hulkenberg cleared
Renault Sport Renault's Jolyon Palmer and Manor's Rio Haryanto have both been handed grid penalties for the Austrian Grand Prix after failing to slow sufficiently for yellow flags in Q1. Palmer and Haryanto were deemed to have now slowed sufficiently when the yellow flags were displayed after Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz Jr. suffered an engine failure during the closing moments of the session. Both have been handed three-place penalties, meaning Palmer drops from 18th to 21st and Haryanto from 19th to 22nd. Nico Hulkenberg was also investigated for a similar infringements after setting a green sector time but stewards deemed that he slowed sufficiently during the specific track sector....
