Ferrari's Halo 2 makes public appearance in Austria

The revised version of Ferrari's Halo cockpit protection system made its public appearance on Thursday ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix. Ferrari, whose original design made its debut in pre-season testing at Barcelona, has fine-tuned the system, making it lighter ahead of its possible introduction next season. The hoop has been revised, however, make the arc wider - so there is no risk of the driver hitting his head on it in the event of an impact. Although Ferrari is undecided on whether or not Halo 2 will run on the track, the team did conduct an extraction test in the pitlane on Thursday afternoon.
