Rosberg on pole, Hamilton crashes out – Qualifying Report

European Grand Prix – Nico Rosberg took pole position ahead of Force India's Sergio Perez as Lewis Hamilton crashed out of the final part of qualifying. Given the tricky nature of the Baku street circuit, it was unsurprising to see the majority of the field leave the pits as the session began in a bid to not be caught out by any on-track incidents. The Mercedes duo of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton proceeded to set the very early pace in the first part of qualifying. A 1:44.136 became the early benchmark as many jockeyed for track position in the tighter parts of the circuit.
