Pirelli working to understand Palmer tyre failure

Renault Sport Pirelli and Renault are continuing analysis on the cause of Jolyon Palmer's tyre failure during practice for the Spanish Grand Prix. Palmer suffered a high speed failure along the pit straight though was able to come to a safe halt in the run-off at Turn 2. It was the second failure in as many sessions for Renault, after test and reserve driver Esteban Ocon was affected by a puncture in the opening encounter. "Esteban did a good job for his brief time in the car and we’re looking forward to him getting a proper crack at the whip in next week’s test," said Technical Director Nick Chester.
