FIA announce 2017 engine regulations

Formula One’s governing body, the FIA, has announced the regulation changes regarding engines and power units for the 2017 season. The costs of power units will be reduced by 1million per season for customer teams, with prices falling a further 3million in 2018. This has been done in a bid to make the sport more affordable for the customer teams. The FIA statement adds that there will also be “progressive reduction of the number of power unit elements per driver per season”, essentially reducing the power units available for the season to three per driver. The statement also points out an “obligation to supply” being included in the homologation process to ensure that all teams...
