Jenson Button highlights step forward in Honda energy deployment
McLaren-Honda's Jenson Button completed Day 1 of testing for McLaren on Monday, and spoke afterwards of a ‘good day' of work. McLaren's morning session on Monday looked to be a continuation of their 2015 problems as Button spent a significant chunk of the morning in the garage. However, the biggest problem was just a sticky throttle, meaning Button was back on track and testing quite quickly. He completed 84 laps of the track and finished with a best time of 1:26.735, good enough for P6. “Today has been all about system checks and trying new things – there are lots of differences with this car, and with the engine.' said Button afterwards.
