Paffett appointed simulator driver at Williams for 2016

Williams has confirmed that Gary Paffett has joined the team for the 2016 Formula 1 season as a simulator driver. He will assist the vehicle science department in developing the Williams Mercedes FW38, working closely with the team to provide feedback on the new car. The British driver won the 1999 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award and has raced in the DTM series since 2003, claiming the championship in 2005 and scoring 20 victories. He was previously a test driver for the McLaren team, completing 71 test days between 2001 and 2013. He left McLaren at the end of 2014.
