Rosberg claims Mexican GP pole position

Nico Rosberg will start the first Mexican Grand Prix since 1992 from pole position after setting the fastest time in qualifying. The German was quickest with his second lap in Q3, putting in a 1:19.480. Like most of the runners in the session, he failed to improve on his final run. However, his team-mate Lewis Hamilton also went slower and aborted his final attempt, having to settle for second, two tenths behind. Sebastian Vettel was third and Daniil Kvyat was fourth. Daniel Ricciardo was just 0.001 seconds further back in fifth. Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa were next up for Williams, with Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg completing the top 10.
