Vettel Penalised – US Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel is set to take a 10-place grid penalty for this weekend’s United States Grand Prix for using his fifth engine of the season. The penalty could be huge for the championship, with Sebastian thought to be the only man that could challenge Lewis Hamilton’s chance at claiming a third world title on Sunday. The rules state that any driver may use 4 engines in a single season without receiving a grid penalty, a move made to help promote reducing costs. The previous engine Vettel had been using had lasted 4 races, debuting in the Italian Grand Prix back in September.
