Sainz "sore" but will try to race in Russia
Carlos Sainz says he is sore but that he will do all he can to take part in the Russian Grand Prix after his big crash in final practice. The Spanish driver was airlifted to hospital after crashing heavily against the barriers after he lost control of his Toro Rosso on the approach to Turn 13 with 20 minutes left in the session. Sainz has undergone checks that ruled out any injuries and the FIA has given him permission to race should he be cleared by doctors. The Spaniard said he only had a sore neck and back, but was completely fine otherwise. "As you can see I'm fine. It was nothing in the end," Sainz in a video message sent to Spanish TV.
