Hamilton on verge of equalling Senna record

Lewis Hamilton is on the brink of equalling his idol Ayrton Senna's Formula 1 Grand Prix win record at Singapore this weekend as he hunts a hat-trick of victories to further extend his championship lead. The reigning F1 champion totally dominated last time out at Monza to claim his 40th race victory and now sits just one win behind Senna and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel. If the Brit is to drive his Mercedes to victory in Singapore in his 161st GP start not only will he match Senna's feat in the same number of races, but also take a huge step towards securing a Senna-equalling third world title.
