Lotus call for trouble free first lap

The financially struggling Lotus team have called for a ‘clean' first lap ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix after being involved in first lap turmoil many times this season, hampering their progress. The Italian Grand Prix saw both Lotus cars out by the third lap, during the Belgian Grand Prix, Maldonado was out on the second lap after sustaining a 17G impact. At the British Grand Prix, both cars were out of the running by the end of the first lap thanks to contact with the McLarens.
