Report: Bottas signs 2016 Ferrari deal

Valtteri Bottas will replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari for the 2016 Formula 1 season, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport. It was reported on Friday that Ferrari has struck a deal with Williams to buy Bottas out of his contract, which expires at the end of 2016. He joined the Grove-based outfit in 2012 as its reserve driver, before being promoted to a race seat for the following season. Williams returned to the front in 2014, with Bottas scoring six podiums and finishing fourth in the drivers' standings. The unconfirmed Corriere dello Sport report states that Ferrari will not take up its option on Raikkonen for next year, which must be activated before the end of the month,...
