Horner: 2017 could be a different ball game
Christian Horner has hinted Red Bull could be set for 'a very different ball game' in 2017 as it waits for engine supplier Renault to determine its own future in F1. Champions between 2010 and 2013, Red Bull Racing and Renault have struggled to mount a challenge to Mercedes and, more recently Ferrari, under the current regulations, a dip in form that has created an uneasy rift between the two parties. As it stands, Red Bull and Renault remain committed to work together for the 2016 season, but it is known the French firm is considering alternative avenues, which range from purchasing an existing team – thought to be Lotus – or withdrawing from the sport altogether.
